The Essex County Club Schooner Crew

Program is designed to provide an exciting, engaging and diverse summer experience for the children of our ECC members. The Schooner Crew Program utilizes the club’s facilities and its professionals. Our goal for your children is to help them develop a sense of self, engage in positive risk taking, strengthen their athletic skills, foster their creativity and build friendships while in a safe and supportive environment.

Our Schooner Crew Program staff is selected on the basis of their education, maturity and special qualifications necessary to work with young children. Our counselors bring to the program the confidence and enthusiasm needed to support your child while in our care. Our Program Director is Kimberly Hamilton, a professional educator and art instructor with over 25 years of experience both in the classroom and as a children’s summer event coordinator.

Eligibility

The Schooner Crew Program is open to ECC

Members’ children and grandchildren aged 4*-11. All groups will be limited to 12 children. Children are broken into groups based on age. Minnows ages 4 & 5, Starfish ages 6 & 7 and Barracudas ages 8 to 11. Priority given to member children first, then grandchildren.

*Participants must be 4 years of age by June 1, 2025 (no exceptions please).

Registration is available online at www.essexcc.org or you may complete and return the attached Registration Form by June 20, 2025. Priority will be given to those who register for the full 6 weeks and are children of members. Enrollee applications are date stamped and accepted in the order in which they are received. Medical Emergency, and Medical History Forms will be sent to you upon acceptance (via ECC email). Forms MUST be returned prior to the first week of attendance.

The fee for each three day weekly session of Schooner Crew is $260. This fee covers all costs, including supervision, lessons, craft supplies, and daily snack and lunch. Unless otherwise notified, this fee will be charged to your ECC account. Register one child for 5 weeks or more and receive a 10% discount. With 2 or more children from the same family receive a 10% discount for the first child registered for 5 weeks and receive a 10% discount for any number of sessions for the second child. No refunds and no make-up dates; pick your schedule carefully.

We hope you will join the fun this summer!

Each session includes swimming, tennis, golf lessons and “Crew” time. Each of the sessions will encompass a special theme and relevant activities will be incorporated. During “Crew time”, the children will be engaging in many “hands on” art and science related projects, as well as cooperative games and sports. A mid-morning healthy snack and lunch are provided daily. The lunch selection is made from the special “Schooner Crew” menu. Pizza is ordered in on Mondays.

The Schooner Crew Program is offered Monday, Wednesday & Friday from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm.
